YPTW shows life from the perspective of Northern Ontario.
YPTW is a web based network originating in Timmins, Ontario. The objective is to show the people, places and things in the North.
As the “television” viewing landscape is rapidly changing, we use web technology to showcase the north to the world.
From delivered content to a necessarily wide audience to on-demand content to a discerning audience we are in a position to build a Northern network to reach a global audience. As existing media are exiting the North we feel there is a large and growing need to bring the North to the World. Our perspective is unique. While somewhat isolated by physical distance, technology now allows us to easily reach the world.
Traditional media outlets are adding this type of viewing to their offerings. However, they are still saddled with funding their traditional offerings. We are coming at this by starting as an internet based on demand network with no traditional items to maintain. We also realize that producing things in the North is a requirement, thus realizing the statement “Think Globally, Act Locally”. What is our place in the global village and how can we show that.
By producing our content without a schedule or time constraints we can allow the true stories of the north to be told.
